Expanding Minecraft Thermally! A server-friendly and content-rich blend of magic and technology!

Thermal Expansion started out as something that played well alongside BuildCraft, but it has grown to become so much more!

It features a tech tree involving multiple machines, balanced and flexible recipes, and is now one of the foundation mods in modded Minecraft gameplay. Since its release, the Redstone Flux power network has become supported by the majority of tech and tech-related mods.

Tired of accidentally creating 1e64 Pneumatic Servos when building machines in an Applied Energistics crafting grid? Have a bunch of iron and diamond armor looted from dungeon chests that you wish you can break apart? Have a bunch of metal blocks you want to combine to make new alloys, but don't want to break them into ingots, first? Well, this mod is for you!

Thermal Recycling is a Thermal Expansion 4.x add-on mod that introduces three new machines that can be used to process all that extra STUFF (Thermal Recycler, Scrap Assessor, and Composter). It also adds additional Redstone Furnace, Pulverizer, Sawmill, and Induction Smelter recipes that permit "extraction" of base resources by virtue of recycling.

Recipes for the Redstone Furnace, Pulverizer, Sawmill, and Induction Smelter can be found using NEI in the standard way. In general most of the basic items can be pulverized with the metal parts recovered as their corresponding dust. For example, an Iron Door can be pulverized into 6 Iron dust.

The Composter takes BROWN and GREEN material and creates bone meal. This bone meal is then uses to accelerate plant growth in a 9x9 area around the Composter.

Animated doors :
The first goal of this mod was to improve vanilla doors behaviour. They are now animated when opened or closed instead of just jumping instantly to their new state. Also, it makes double doors automatically open and close without any need for redstone.
Trapdoors and fence gates are also animated!

New sliding doors :
Two new sliding doors are added (wooden and iron), that behaves like normal doors but instead of rotating on themselves, they slide into the block next to them.

Jail doors :
A new metallic jail door that slides on the side. Can only be operated with redstone.

Laboratory doors :
A new metallic laboratory door that slides upwards. It's not a double door.

Factory doors :
A new metallic factory door that slides both upwards and downwards.

Shoji doors :
A new shoji door that slides slowly on the side.

Curtains :
Simple red curtains that opens with custom animation.

Rusty Hatch :
A big metallic hatch with a handle that slowly opens. Comes with rusty ladders built-in. Requires 2x3x2 block space to be placed.
Like Trap doors, if placed on the top half of the side of the block, the door will open upwards.

Rusty Ladders :
A metallic ladder that matches the ones built-in the Rusty Hatch.

Garage doors :
A multi-structure allowing a large area to be opened with a nice animation. A Garage door can be as wide and tall as wanted, and as long as they face the same way, one simple redstone current change will make the whole door open or close depending on its current state.

Carriage doors :
A big and fancy wooden double door (4x5x1 multi-block). Note : right click the frame to close the doors.

Forcefield and Controller :
The Forcefield Controller is an item that allows the creation of Forcefields. The Forcefields can be any size (with a limit of 100 blocks) and can't be destroyed. Use the item on the Forcefield to activate and deactivate it, use it while sneaking to remove it completely.
The Contoller displays color informations while placing a Forcefield to indicate if it can be made between the selected positions. It is self powered but requires some time to recharge. Note that removing a Forcefield completely drains the energy of the Controller.

Player Sensor :
A little block that creates a redstone current when a player passes under. It can be placed on the walls, floors or ceiling. It doesn't have the annoying click sound pressure plates have, and it's safer too as it won't let creepers enter your home sweet home.

Door factory and custom doors :
The door factory is a self powered machine that lets you design your own doors. Chose their properties such as the type of movement (from ten available!), the sound, or the speed of their animation, and then select blocks for the frame, top and bottom materials to define how they look.
The top and bottom material also accepts a few items for special effects :
- Flint & steel gives a fire effect.
- Ender pearl displays nether portal animation.
- Water bucket displays flowing water.
- Lave bucket displays flowing lava.

Vanishing Frames :
Vanishing frames that fade out when powered with redstone current. When powered, they transmit the current to their neighbouring fellow frames so you can make whole walls vanish into thin air. Once current is out, frames revert back to their normal state. Once placed in a world, you can right click on them with any normal block and the frames will copy and use the block textures.
Frames come in four different materials : wood, iron, gold and diamond.
- wood frames will always propagate their state to neighbouring frames
- iron frames will only propagate to neighbouring frames that are copying the same block
- gold frames will only propagate to neighbouring frames that are copying the same block with the same metadata (ie : gold frame won't trigger a frame copying a wool block with a different color).
- diamond frames will allow you to entirely customize the behaviour. You can choose in which direction the propagation will occur, the delay and even the duration.

Block Mixer and mixed blocks :
The Block Mixer is a self powered machine that crushes blocks together. The result is a mixed block blending the textures of both blocks. If a light emitting block is mixed, the result will emit light. If a block of redstone is mixed, the result will emit redston current. Also, mixing a non opaque block allows to see through it.
In addition, you can mix these items to get a special effect :
- Ender pearl displays nether portal animation.
- Water bucket displays flowing water.
- Lave bucket displays flowing lava.

Hello everybody and welcome to my hoverboard mod. I hope you enjoy this mod.

About the mod

As you have probably gathered already, this mod adds in futuristic styled hoverboards to Minecraft. There are also new items to craft the hoverboard and its power, as well as a new block to help with the crafting recipes. This mod is new so there may be bugs and I plan to add more to this mod soon. If you would like more information, check out the "What's in this mod" section or you can download it and play around with it yourself.

The image above shows the four variants of the hoverboards. The first one (Left to Right) is the basic hoverboard. This is equiped with its own GUI and you just right click it with an empty hand to mount it. You will be able to use WASD to control it and also customizable controls to go upwards and downwards (Default: Z, X). To open the GUI the default key is 'I' or click it with an item in your hand. To the right of the basic hoverboard, there is the missile upgraded hoverboard. This will function the same as the basic hoverboard, but will let you launch missiles. The defualt key for this is 'R'. You are able to change the amount of missiles launched via the GUI arrow section. To the right of that, there is the thruster hoverboard. This has a slight different model and has a thruster at the back. This will let you travel at faster speeds. Finally, there is the advance hoverboard. This is a combination of the missiles and thruster hoverboard. All the hoverboards will cycle through different colours and can suck up close by items into the users hand (disabled in config). They also put out a light source at night or in the dark that will decay shortly after (can be disabled in game or config for servers). Going in lava will cause damage to the hoverboard and rapidly raise the heat bar, you will need to get it out fast before it gets stuck and destroys. Going underwater will loose heat but will also slowly damage the hoverboard.

The image above shows the HUD while riding the hoverboard. At the top middle, there is a power bar. This will display your current power that is in the hoverboard using a purple bar. When the bar is gone, it means the power is empty and the hoverboard won't work until you refill it via the GUI. Below is the heat bar, this will slowly increase while riding the hoverboard. The hotter the hoverboard is, more heat particles will be displayed. If it reaches max heat, the hoverboard will disable shortly and empty the heat half way. Heat decreases faster when the hoverboard is not in use and if it is raining when emptying the heat. Shooting missiles and going upwards will increase the heat faster.

In the left corner, there is a missile icon. The missile icon will decrease depending on the amount of missiles you have. If you have no missiles or request to shoot more than you have, then nothing will happen until you refill.

All GUIs are the same but the non-missile hoverboards will not have a slot for the rockets. The GUI allows you to carry items and the two buttons also show more options. The right button will just tell you more information about your current hoverboard. The left will display options you can tick (WIP). You can turn off your hoverboard light source, although the tick box is still a work in progress. You can also disable your particles but this is mostly for single player. You can turn off all particles by going in the default Minecraft options. The two arrows on the GUI will allow you to decrease or increase the amout of missiles to launch. Above that, you can refill fuel and rockets using the two slots.

To summarize: this mod allows you to transmute tons of materials into other materials. It adds a lot of what is classified by many as "endgame content", to make you feel more godlike in your sandbox world. If this offends your Minecrafting sensibilities, this may not be the mod for you.

These items are psychotically expensive, so before you bash them, try acquiring the items legitimately. You'll find it's not exactly a cakewalk.

ShoulderSurfing is a mod I created from scratch which replaces the default third person behind-the-body view (F5 key) with a more traditional "over the shoulder" view. This style of camera was pioneered by games like Capcom's Resident Evil 4.

This mod injects code into base files so it may not be compatible with other mods that modify the rendering engine.
