NEI is a successor to both Too Many Items and Recipe Book. It arose around the same time as Craft Guide when Alexandria and a few others on the IRC suggested that I merge both Too Many Items and Recipe Book to remove their greatest flaws, ironically too many items, or in the case of recipe book, too many recipies. Too Many Items was great, but the one thing it lacked was an easy way to search and sort your items. When you had a mod like Red Power coming along with 10000 items both TMI and Recipe Book were racking up the pages. Even if you don't want to use NEI for cheating in items, you will likely feel right at home with the Recipe component of the mod.

This mod adds in what Minecraft has been missing for years, furniture! It includes over 40 pieces of furniture to decorate your bedroom, kitchen, living room and even your garden! It doesn't take the vanilla feel away from Minecraft as it would be coded in the same way as Mojang would do it. So if you are into decorating, I strongly recommend this mod to you!

When you mine this block it will have an equal chance of dropping items, spawning entities or structures.

WARNING: If luck is not on your side, this block may have devastating effects on you or your world. It is recommended that you backup your world, use a not important world or go hardcore and take the risk.

Displays health of any mob you look at. When anything living takes damage, the damage they took will bounce off their head, with a cool little effect.

"Hrrh!" Villagers are no longer Caveman Squidwards and no longer make sound. They are now male or female humans with over 200 unique skins.
You can interact with villagers in many ways, such as chatting with them, asking them to follow you, hiring them to do work, giving them gifts, and more!
Interacting with villagers builds relationships. Get your relationship high enough, and you'll be able to marry a villager.
Once you're married, you can have children. Children will grow up over time and do many different chores for you.
Children eventually grow up into adults, who can get married and have children of their own.
